SOLO ARTIST
”Ancient meets modern when drums, cymbals and percussion create loops, links and sudden crashes. Within all this there lie unstoppable fundamental forces,
jazzy grooves, and a hint of progressive rock.”

In his solo material Oskari Lehtonen demonstrates how rich and versatile music can be, even if it's played only with percussion instruments. The music is based on Nordic folk tradition but you can also hear influences from progressive rock, trance, movie soundtracks etc.
On his first solo album ROIHU Lehtonen plays a large selection of
percussion instruments including drumset, tambourines,
taiko drums, samplers and body percussion. There's also three
guest musicians on the album: Suvi Oskala on fiddle,
Arja Kastinen on kantele and Kepa Kettunen on drums.
In his live perfomances Lehtonen uses two sample pads and acoustic cymbals to create a large variety of sounds just like on the album.
